The intention is to collectively identify and raise issues so we move to a state of readiness for the legislation, and are able to reflect from practice post-commencement. Guidelines on various roles and aspects of the legislation, together with e-learning modules will be available from 1 July on the websites of the Ministry of Health and Matua Raki.
Following workshop one specific training days are organised for District Area Addiction Specialist and the Authorised Officer roles in September and November.
The November workshop is being held on the 16 November to discuss progress on plans developed in the August workshops. Once the Act comes into force further regional workshops will also be offered to provide post-implementation support and to discuss and review how the implementation plans have met the needs of tangata whai ora, family, whanau and the workforce.
