Cabinet Approval of Mental Health & Addiction Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement
I am pleased to announce that on 18 June 2018, Cabinet approved the extension of the Care and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement 2017 to mental health and addiction support workers.
Approximately 5,000 mental health & addiction support workers will be eligible to receive new minimum pay rates. Workers could receive up to an additional $290/week based on the 2017/18 pay equity rates and a 40-hour week.
The Ministry of Health continues to work with funders, unions and the peak body (Platform Trust) and providers to ensure the successful implementation of this, the Mental Health & Addiction Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement 2018.
