Run for MH

The Mental Health Foundation has calendared and organised events for "Run for Mental Health" across the country with the first taking place on the 16 February in Wellington.  For the Midland region the event will be held in Rotorua on the 02 May. 

With more than half of us experiencing a mental health problem in our lifetimes, every dollar raised helps us to boost the wellbeing of people across Aotearoa and makes sure no one has to face tough times alone. The Rotorua Marathon starts in the Government Gardens, heads out through Rotorua CBD, around the traditional lake course and finishes at the beautiful Princes Arch. You can run or walk, whatever distance best suits you, with a full marathon, 21km or 5km fun run on offer.

Being active is great for your mental health. Set yourself a challenge, set up an online fundraising page and sweat it for mental health!

How it works

  1. Decide on what challenge you want to do to raise funds and awareness about mental health and wellbeing. It can be running the length of Aotearoa, climbing your local maunga, or swimming Lake Taupō.
  2. Then set up an online fundraising page to tell the world about it.
  3. When people donate to your page, it automatically comes to the Mental Health Foundation. No hassle, no worries!
